Adding phytoestrogens to clomiphene induction in unexplained infertility patients – a randomized trial

It is concluded that follicular phase phytoestrogens, namely C. racemosa rhizome dry extract, at the given dose and duration, can improve the induction outcomes in unexplained infertility patients who are managed by clomiphene induction and timed intercourse, and who previously received multiple unsuccessful clomiphene induction cycles. This novel regimen could help to save these couples an expensive IVF trial, although having a considerably lower pregnancy rate than studies managing them by IVF protocols (36.7% versus 50%), (Foong et al., 2006).
